The camera phone – a combination of digital camera and cellphone – has now been around for over ten years, helping us capture special moments whenever and wherever they happen.
Although bigger isn’t always better, choosing a camera phone with the largest image sensor is often a good guide to the picture quality you’d expect. A “5-megapixel camera” will take photos that are created from around five million tiny colored dots, which means the image is likely to be significantly better than the same picture taken on a 2-megapixel device.

With optical technology from the world-renowned Carl Zeiss company, this phone certainly takes photography seriously. There’s also a bright xenon flash and built-in photo editing software.
When you’re on your way to a photogenic destination, the N82 has GPS Satellite Navigation to guide you… and it’ll play music or videos to entertain you, too. This isn’t just a camera phone – it’s a travelling companion!

Along with auto-focus, anti-blur stabilization and a flash with red-eye reduction, this camera phone offers ‘BestPic’. As the name suggests, it helps you capture the image you’re after by taking a series of photos when you press the button. Simply keep your favorites and ditch the rest.
There’s plenty of other stuff built in, from music to email, but this cell phone is definitely dedicated to photography.

Samsung SCH-B600
First, some bad news. You’re unlikely to find this cell phone (officially, at least) anywhere in the USA or Europe.
Incredible as it sounds, this is a mobile phone with a 10-megapixel camera and a 3x optical zoom. Yes, ten megapixels. Okay, so it’s a bit over-the-top. But ten megapixels, eh? Don’t tell me you’re not tempted.

Sony Ericsson K850i
Although it looks like a standard cell phone, the K850i is full of imaging features.
