Best Nursery Chairs

By Roselle Hope, Babyroom Expert

Nursery seating is a key element to consider in your overall nursery design. It will provide many comfortable and relaxing moments for both mom and baby. With so many options available today, deciding which type of nursery seating - glider, recliner, or rocking chair – to choose can be difficult. Here are my picks for some nursery seating solutions so comfortable, you will never want to get up.

Before purchasing your nursery seating, consider the following:

1. Safety - Be sure to choose a chair that is well built. It is important that you visit a showroom and review the structure of the chair you are considering. Also, ask the sales associate for product safety information. And, Google the chair to research what other buyers have had to say about the it.

2. Style - First decide what color and/or theme your nursery is going to be. The chair you select should coordinate with the overall look of your nursery. Perhaps you would like a wicker style glider or an upholstered slip-covered recliner, or a traditional wooden rocking chair.

3. Ottoman/Footrest - If you decide to buy a glider you may wish to consider an accompanying ottoman. In additional to providing additional comfort, it can provide additional seating for guests.

Whatever type of nursery seating you select, make sure it also reflects your lifestyle, as it will probably become your favorite chair long after baby leaves the nursery.

Finally, the most serious error is not including one in your nursery.
