Straight, shiny hair was once only possible with a visit at the salon. But the revolutionary technology of the flat iron has changed hairdressing. With the high temperatures and protective ceramic plates styling hair super straight is easy. Flat ironing hair after color not only protects your hair color, it keeps it from fading. I like smaller 1-inch plates because the smaller size is more user-friendly than the larger widths. When researching flat irons, I came across many brands, my top favorites are Solano and Chi. I have worked with both for years and I find them to be the best. When flat ironing hair, always make sure hair is 95% dry and combed through (no tangles!) Section hair with a clip starting from nape of neck moving up in 1/2” sections. The thinner the sections the straighter and more intense the heat. Thicker sections leaving more volume in style. Tip: Use only on fringe for super-straight bangs for an ultra chic hair.
