Best Winter Coats For Men;

I know you may be cringing a little at the price on this one guys, but this coat is truly an investment piece. With preppy being the look of the moment, I look nowhere else than Ralph Lauren. This coat has a classic fit that is great for layering and features the iconic, strong, wood toggle closures down the front. Winter in Connecticut, anyone?
This modern take on the bomber jacket is pretty slick. Andrew Marc has crafted up a jacket that fits like a dream. Complete with leather trim, banded cuffs and button detail on the pockets (which happen to be positioned perfectly, I hate when they're too high). The best part about this coat is the detachable rabbit fur trimmed collar…it's just cool and luxurious enough without looking like you're an extra in the next 50 Cent music video.
I have to say the new men's collection from Juicy Couture, “Dirty English,” is insanely cool. This Peacoat is a prime example. The classic military coat has been cropped shorter for a modern look and features a retro double-breasted front and angled pockets. When worn with a great pair of dark, slim jeans, this is the perfect winter coat to take any guy from the office to the bar. PS: Wearing a V-neck sweater and a killer shirt/tie combo makes this coat look like a million bucks.
I think I have had one of these jackets each winter of my life for the last five years (well, not this year in Los Angeles, sadly). This puffer coat from Gap has become pretty much legendary. It is 100% polyester, making it easily to slide on over a chunky wool sweater. It zips down the front and hits right at the waist to show off your cool jeans. It is available in grey, black, or olive and lives up to its name… warmest.
Moncler is the crème de la crème in nylon shell, down filled jackets. The Austin bubble jacket offers a really cool zip off hood with race inspired cream detailing on the shoulders. The front buttons down for an old-school look, and the waist has a hidden drawstring to make sure no snow blows up your belly in a blizzard. It is also available in brown.
This jacket from A&F is pretty damn cool. The rugged outfitter has really outdone themselves with a form fitting twill jacket lined fully in faux fur, yes, even the sleeves. It features heavy duty reinforced collar and cuffs to knock out those gusty winds, and the subtle distressing and vintage wash makes this jacket look like your best friend passed it on to you. I wouldn't recommend this option for a nice date, but it is perfect for everyday running around town.
This is a prime example of a slick, handsome coat that every man should have for when your wife snags theater tickets or friends are in town for dinner. This long coat is functional as the length keeps you incredibly warm and fashionable with the buckle detailing at the neck and flap pockets on the front. Wear over a cashmere sweater and pinstriped dress pants for a polished, NYC look.
Even though it may be snowing and sleeting, you just can not throw a puffy nylon bubble jacket over a pinstripe suit. (Without looking like a fool). This jacket from Brooks Brothers is clean and simple and looks amazing when worn over a suit for the office. It is made of Loro Piana Italian wool for supreme warmth and has a great slim fit. The inside is tricked out with blackberry pockets and such, making this your new best office buddy for the winter.
This vintage inspired coat from Sean John is really versatile despite being all plaid. The oversized collar makes any guy look like serious stuff when walking down the street, and the double-breasted button front screams classic and cool. The fit is slim and modern and hits just above the knee. Try to sport this coat over something simple, as it already has a lot going on with all of that plaid.
A guy can never go wrong with a jacket from The North Face; in fact, I recommend that every guy have one. This new style is waterproof and lined with down for the ultimate in warmth and comfort. The detachable faux fur trimmed hood offers great versatility (and looks great when attached); and pockets galore will stash away your blackberries, wallets, and digital cameras while grabbing a coffee at Starbucks.
